Youngstown Cash Mob Celebrates the Arts

Friends of the Youngstown Cash Mob,
It’s time to get your dancing shoes on, because we’re off to the Summer Festival of the Arts! If you’ve been there, you know what a great event this is. The Artists Marketplace includes handmade furniture, clothing, sculpture, pottery, paintings, photography, toys, jewelry… made by artists from all over Ohio and Pennsylvania. For a list of artists, click here: http://web.ysu.edu/gen/ysu/Artists_Market_Place_m3015.html

As if that weren’t enough happiness, the Festival of Nations tents are full of ethnic foods that represent the cultural richness of our valley, the courtyard features live music both days, fair food vendors serve those refreshing lemon shake-ups, and activities for children make this a great event for families. There is even a used book sale at YSU's Maag Library! Admission to the Festival is free. For performance and event schedules, click here: http://web.ysu.edu/sfa/

Thinking you might like another chance at a Youngstown Cash Mob shirt, tote or car sticker? Artist Lisa Zitello has invited us to share a booth at the Grey to Green Festival at Wick Park in September, and she will be making some new cash mob logo stuff! I’ll be looking for volunteers to join me at the table, so I’ll put out a request later in the summer.

On our Facebook page, we are voting this weekend for the August Cash Mob. We have another excellent slate of nominations. For the special September Cash Mob, we’ll be looking for nominations for businesses owned by our African American friends and neighbors. Please help us spread the word!

Stop by the Summer Festival of the Arts. The Cash Mob table will be in the Artists’ Marketplace. Put your name in for the free drawing for a gift certificate at Oh, Wow! Children’s Center for Science and Technology, the runner up for the July Cash Mob. We honor the artists in our community, small business owners who grace our city with their creativity.

Cash mob: like flash mob, only the singing is optional.
